Luke Chambers

As Forest prepare for the long away trek to Portman Road tonight, the vast majority of conversation seems to revolve around ex-red Luke Chambers, who left the club in the summer before the Kuwaiti takeover.

In most people's eyes, Chambers has been remembered for last season, where self-admittedly he has his worst season in the red shirt, but then again.. who didn't? He also did criticise the fans on a few occasions, but if we're honest with ourselves he was correct. Booing and getting on the players backs wasn't helping, he never said we weren't within our rights to do it, which some people seem to believe. However I do understand where some fans are coming from, paying nearly £500 for a season ticket, to watch truly shocking performances and then be criticised was wrong, but it shouldn't be the lasting memory of his Forest career.

He was player of the season the year previously, and rightly so. With top quality performances week in, week out he was, in my opinion the best centre half in the division. While also being an integral part of our successful campaign.

At the end of the day you can say the pressure of the captaincy got to him, but in my eyes he was always honest, always wanted the best for the club and made sure he went over to applaud the supporters after EVERY single game, whilst others walked off without caring.

He made mistakes while here, but some of the abuse he gets is unjustified, personally I want to wish him luck, apart from tonight of course.
